Microsoft And a Silverlight Linux version

Today microsoft has announced a new collaboration with novell around silverlight as explained here. The Mono team at Novell will implement open source versions of Silverlight 1.0 and Silverlight 1.1.

Seems that microsoft will open part of Silverlight code and specifications to the moonlight developers to create a full compatibility. Microsoft will make Video and Audio codecs (it's from microsoft so its binary-only heh) and other stuffs.

I'm really not a fan of all this silverlight stuff. I'm sorry but this opinion may be at some part because it's from microsoft, And I don't think they are making this collaboration just to help the open-source community. I really like flash and hope that i don't need to install all this silverlight stuff on my computer so soon.
